Susumu Mitsuoka has established Mitsuoka company which is considered to be one of most original and extravagant car producers in Japan. The history of the company dates back to 1968 when its owner opened a shop where he repaired and inspected various vehicles. The company succeeded in its sphere and gained wide popularity among customers. As a result, it had twenty branches all over Japan.
Facing increase of fuel prices and power crisis in Japan, the company began importing French one-seated vehicles which were equipped with motorcycle engines with capacity of 50 h.p.
The company began manufacturing of its own cars in 1982. Ordinary customers like to call them Bubu Shuttle as they were designed for people suffering certain diseases or invalids. Soon it was improved and modified.
Later the company switched to manufacture of copies of old cars at the Toyama-based factory. The company managed to improve and modify limited editions of Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar and Daimler retro cars.
After release of original Le-Seyde model in 1990, five hundred cars of this model were sold in four days only! Later the company introduced Dore and Viewt models. The Viewt car had an automatic gearbox, 1000 cc and 1400 cc engines and could develop up to 60 and 85 h.p. power respectively. The car was also produced with front and rear drive.
In 1994 the company introduced Zero 1 model which was equipped with the engine of 1800 cc capacity developing up to 130 h.p. power and accelerating up to 160 km/h.
Transportation Department of Japan certified the company in 1994. It gave an opportunity to manufacture vehicles of its own design. As a result, the company became one of the major car producers in Japan.
In 2001 the company's showroom was opened. Speaking about its dealerships, they are situated in Brunei, Malaysia and Hong Kong. The company is engaged in manufacture of cars which have no analogues.
